The new season of children, young people and parents of parents has started in the parish libraries of Rezekne municipality. This year, the Rezekne municipality includes Bērzgales, Feimaņu, Gaigalavas, Kantinieku, Kaunatas 1., Maltas, Nautrēnu, Rikavas, Stoļerovas, Stružānu and Vērēmu parish libraries.
Each year, a collection of more recent books for groups of different age readers is presented for reading and evaluation: 5 +, 9 +, 11 +, 15 + and children's parents. The book collection lists can be found on the website www.lasamkoks.lv
To participate in the reading promotion program, you must go to the library and ask the librarian about the jury of children, young people and parents, choose a liked or recommended book, read and write the most important thoughts about the read, fill in the questionnaire. Parents could go to a library with children, showing interest in what the child read, read and discuss read. Maybe these conversations will bring you closer.
The Latvian National Library Reading Promotion Programme “children, youth and parental jury” has been in Latvia for fifteen years. During these years, the programme has been successful not only in Latvia but also in 40 Latvian diaspora centres abroad.
It is a state-supported initiative of the Latvian National Library Centre (BLC) with wide coverage of children, young people and adult readers.
In order to better understand and understand children, their thoughts, interests, actions, more often should be shared with them, taking part in various activities, including reading. As we choose friends, we also create a world of our books. The book is one of the best friends and advisors, and those who are friends with the book improve their reading skills, which in turn contribute to education, thinking, imagination, development.
The programme is generally good at the fact that its participants – readers – are not involved in a series of events between June and December.
