Another powerful node was felled in Latgale's podiers' family tree – on 9 August, the brilliant potter, the founder of the “Pudnamku shave”, the founder of many young podiers, and the educator Evalds Vasilevskis.
Born in Rezekne, graduating from the 1 st High School of Rezekne, his interest in Latgale podation traditions has been heard by listening to the art scientist John Pulat's lecture in the ceramic faculty of the People's University. John Puyt has been the one who encouraged Evald not to listen to scientific Communism in the art academy, but to go to the gray-haired masters while they were still alive, to listen to them, to learn a position. The father of Latgale ceramics, the art scientist John Puyt, in his eighty-year-old book Latgale ceramic, described his student Evald as a pedestrian of the search engine: “The path of his professional growth and artistic thinking is a sharp and sharp, unexpected turn. He wants to find everything himself, as the incredible Tom check, putting his finger and storming. Productivity, activity, constant new search, even if the previous one is not yet fully established, is an essential expression of his rapidly pulsating personality. '
Intense and intense is THE creative activity OF E. Vasilevska – from 1976 “Latgale ceramic” studio comrade, trainee Peter Ushpeal and Vladislava Vincevich masterworkshop, the name of the People's Tourism Master in 1979. In 1982, there is a first personal exhibition in the Museum of Freedom, and in the same year Evalds becomes a member of the Union of Latvian artists. He is one of Latgale's ceramic days and organisers in the Rēzekne district. In 1990, in response to the invitation of Imanta's donation, the Latvian cultural foundation “Pudnamku shula” was founded, which brings together young people, now known masters. In the international artists' plenary session of the “Pudnamku shaves”, IN Vasilevsky's studio Kaunatas parish, “Akminos” was gathered not only by podiers, it was a sample of the symbiosis of various arts and ideas. Evalda Vasilevska and the bakers of his students covered the whole of Latvia, since 2002, when the baked hill blessing in the Community at Brucna Manor was built. “Pudnament shaving” masters exhibitions are held not only in Latvia but also outside Latvia, Belarus, Lithuania. In 2001, MR Vasilevsky was awarded a big folklore award for outstanding achievements in the traditional cultural heritage.
“From life has gone to Latgale ceramic master, who had his own unordinated view of the pottery.” It was God's talent to be a master and a teacher. His biggest contribution is the many apprentices who have inspired him and continue to carry out the podation traditions, “– that is what the leader of the“ Pudnamku shavel ”association, Stanislav Vilnius, says about his teacher.
“Evald has always been a pedestrian of his own way, with his understanding of the material, the process, he had his own view of everything, he also expressed it. It can't be mentioned that Evalda had God's talent to be a teacher, because he had known the clay very many young people. It is undeniable that the loss of every girl in Latgale ceramics is felt, each of them leaving not only the works, but also the possibilities, emotions, knowledge that might be passed on, that is a great loss, as the people of Evald were driving, driving, learning, living,“ – the leader of the association “Rēzekne county pudnamki” Andris Ušpelis.
In the ancient oak grove, “Academy” at Evalda, i could see the clay in the hands of the man and the fire in the fire, listening to the grains of his thoughts about the clay and the world. It is now a part of eternity.
Evalda Vasilevsky, on Monday, August 13, 12.30 of the big chapel in Rēzekne, would lie in the graveyard of Greychen.
