Information regarding registration of assenizer services in Rezekne municipality

On 1 July 2017, the Cabinet regulations regarding the management and registration of decentralised sewerage systems entered into force. The new requirements apply to any property registered in a village or city if the house, apartment (or summer house) is not connected to a centralised sewerage system. The provisions do not apply to rural areas, including single-seated. All municipal and urban waste water treatment plants, savings vessels and septicians not connected to a centralised sewerage system are registered in a special municipal database and are subject to new management requirements.
The new rules have led to the need for additional assencing services in the areas concerned. On 6 December 2018, the municipality of Rezekne has approved binding rules on the procedures for the provision and accounting of decentralised sewerage services. They also prescribe requirements for assencing service providers. In order for a natural or legal person to be registered as a service provider of a decentralised sewerage, it must be entitled to carry out road haulage by a specialised vehicle (except where the service is supplied by means of a tractor technique using an assencing drum) must be free of tax debts and be covered by a contract with the sewage treatment plant or the owner of specialised sewerage sites. The application for registration and the documents supporting the minimum requirements shall be submitted in person in the local government, electronically or by post. The submission of the assenizer shall be examined and the reply shall be given within 15 (fifteen) working days from the day of receipt thereof.
The municipality of Rezekne calls on entrepreneurs to make more active use of this opportunity and register in the register of assenizers in order to provide decentralised sewerage services in the territory of the local government. Currently a single assenizer is registered in the municipality of Rezekne, providing decentralised sewerage services – SIA “Rezekne water” (tel. 64625066, 64622016).
