Launching competition for Erasmus + project applications

The National Education Development Agency (VIAA) launches a 2016 call for proposals in the European Union (EU) Erasmus + programme in the field of education and training. Organisations active in the field of education, training, youth or sport may participate in the competition.

“This year, the Erasmus + competition has been launched for a third time and, as in previous competitions, the main programme activities are staff mobility and strategic partnership projects in all educational sectors – higher, vocational, school and adult learning. International mobility of students and staff outside THE EU is topical in the higher education sector. As in previous tenders, we also expect a large number of project applicants. This year, the amount of funding available to Latvia in the Erasmus + programme has been increased, reaching more than 14 million euros for the education sector,” says Ennata Kivrina, Director of THE EU Education Program Department.

Applicants - legal persons - may submit project applications for funding. Before completing the project application, THE VIAA is invited to consult THE 2016 eu Erasmus + programme guidelines.

Project applications are submitted electronically in the Erasmus + programme. The completed project application form must be sent online in accordance with the project application form; and form filling guidelines that information.

Deadlines for the submission of project applications:

Learning mobility:

  • Mobility of persons in education and training, including the mobility of students and staff of international higher education institutions 2 February 2016; 
  • Implementation of Erasmus Mundus joint masters programmes February 18, 2016. 

Cooperation to promote innovation and exchange of good practice:

  • Strategic partnerships in education and training: 31 March 2016;
  • Knowledge associations, sectoral skills associations 26 February 2016;
  • Strengthening capacity in higher education in partner countries February 10, 2016.

Jean Monnet programme:

  • Modules, professions, centres of excellence, support for associations, networks, projects February 25, 2016. 

The European Commission has determined that all deadlines for the submission of project applications expire at 12.00 (at noon) after Brussels time.

VIAA will organise seminars on the preparation, submission and evaluation of project applications in accordance with the competence (school, vocational, adult, higher education and training).

The Ministry of Education and Science is the responsible Ministry for the implementation of THE EU Erasmus + programme in Latvia, while the State Education Development Agency and the youth international programme agency ensure implementation of THE EU Erasmus + programme.
