South Latgale NGO Support Centre this year On 4 August, a “Latgale NGO project programme 2015” has been launched, which aims to promote civil society initiatives in Latgale planning region, the participation of citizens and intercultural dialogue, including the work of minorities.
A total of 24 000 EURO is available in the competition, divided into three areas of support:
For support projects for civil society initiatives (EUR 8 000): 
- information and educational activities on the protection of interests and participation in decision-making, involving cooperation partners from NGOs, municipalities, educational institutions etc.;
- organize activities that provide knowledge and develop civil skills and opportunities;
- organise events that promote public initiative and involvement in the improvement of local community life;
For support projects for intercultural dialogue (EUR 8 000):  
- awareness-raising, stereotyping, involvement of representatives of different nationalities in activities aimed at cohesion and inclusive civic participation;
Minority NGO support projects (8000 EURO):
- promote the preservation and development of minority identity and cultural heritage by supporting the development of creative collective activities of various minorities, the development of minority traditions and folklore;
- promote the civic participation and cooperation of minorities; promote the integration and participation of the Roma community of Latvia, including the promotion of cooperation between the Roma Community and the local government and/or social partners, taking into account the national Roma integration policy package as well as supporting the preservation of the Roma community's cultural identity and intercultural dialogue.
Non-governmental organisations of minorities within the meaning of this Regulation are an organisation which is managed and operates by national minorities living in Latvia. The organisation's previous activity focuses on the civic participation of representatives of national minorities living in Latvia and the preservation of their cultural and identity, or other activities that salute and combine national minorities in Latvia. The activities to be supported are those in which both minorities and representatives of the basic nation are actively involved.
A maximum of 3000 EURO is available for one project, the deadline for submitting projects is 3 September 2015.  
The competition is announced in accordance with the mutually agreed agreement of the Ministry of Culture of THE MINISTRY of Culture and the South Latgale NGO on the performance of individual public administration tasks within the framework of civil society development and intercultural dialogue.
In order to inform Latgale NGO representatives of the announced “Latgale NGO project programme 2015”, the South Latgale NGO Support Centre will organize seminars in Latgale:
11 August at: 11:00 Ludza District Council (Raina street 16, 3. st.z);
12 August at: 11:00 Kraslava municipality council (Riga street 51, Kraslava);
On August 13: 11:00 at Daugavpils District Centre (Dobeles Street 30, Daugavpils);
18 August at: 11:00 in the centre OF Premier NGOs (Cooperative street 6, Preiļi, 3. St.);
19 August at: 14:00 in the Chamber of the City Council of Rēzekne;
On 20 August at: 11:00 awards in the council (3. st.z).
