Exhibition and awareness-raising event “peoples – dolls and photographs”

Culture

This is a topic that is particularly updated when Latvia approached the centuries of Latvia and still employs many ethnography enthusiasts. A large part of the society is not merely a luxurious honour in festivals, but also a link to the ancestors and a way of expressing the cultural heritage of its people. Every one of us who has such a garment, or who is just considering making it, comes with countless questions - what to take into account, how to start how to create your own countryside, how to store it?
To find answers to these and many other questions, and to draw inspiration from creative and enthusiastic people, on 31 January 2020 at 15:00 Maltas in the parish library, in collaboration with the associations “my compatriot” and “Latgale ethnographic embassy” will be organized by an investigative event “economics – dolls and photographs”.
“My compatriot” is a volunteering project that started in autumn 2015 with the goal of creating an annual calendar with 12-nut stories and photos, but the story is now ten times more. The motto of the project – self-created or inherited, but my compatriot. These are stories, which are discovered by the owners of the people themselves – for their feelings, for their families, for the masters, for their importance. Ilze's boom had erected these stories in glorious photographs.
During the event, we will negotiate with Ivetu Seimanov, a member of the association “Latgale Ethnographic Embassy”, who has self-trained the art of the peoples of the countryside, restoring the historic Vidazuiža countryside, the ancient Latvian gown and the Preil Burnas.
As an owl on the foam is the collection of the Inga Circene dolls, many of the familiar and lovely dolls “Baiba”, “scene”, and other peripheral peoples.
We call on the event to visit the folklore cluster and the People's dance leaders and participants, the handlers and anyone interested in and fascinated by Latvian ethnography.
