For three years, visitors are expected to be at the centre of the waterway development “lighthouse”

Just today – 27 May – three years since the opening of the doors of the water centre “beacon” on the shore of Luban Lake, Gaigalavas parish. “Beer” administrator Liene Skraucha said that ten sports and ten cultural events have been held since the opening of the centre, seven exhibitions are located, as well as five projects have been implemented. “The most important indicator of the popularity of the tourist area is the number of visitors, and in this respect we have to be proud of, because over 15 thousand people have been visiting us over the three years.”

Since opening the “beacon” in 2011, residents actively use the facilities offered by the Centre – the well-established beach, tents and picnic sites, tennis and volleyball sites, Kemper and Trailer sites, the view area on the roof terrace, the watersport inventory, exhibition hall, as well as the premises for organising educational seminars. Last winter, there was also an opportunity to rent skis or skates to go into sporting crossings along the broad Cavans ponds.

The “beacons” are expected to be met by three employees: Liene Skraucha, Biruta Colney and Voldemar Colney. He found that this summer's “beacon” would be a wealthy thing: “it is planned to launch large cane mowing activities in lakes and ponds in the near future, as well as to repair the beach at the shore of the lake at the beacons.” This summer, there will also be two camps, possibly even pest demonstrations and a medieval sport event. In the summer, two couples will say yes to each other. '

“Lighthouse” working time: Tuesdays 10:00-14:00; Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:00-15:00; Fridays 10:00-18.00; Saturdays, Sundays 10:00-19.00. Monday - holidays.

It should be recalled that the “lighthouse” centre for the development of watercourses was created by implementing the project “sustainable tourism development in the vicinity of Kupišku lagoon (Lithuania) and Luban Lake (Latvia)” in the municipality of Rezekne, where the funding for the construction and construction of the surroundings is linked to Latvia – Lithuania's cross-border cooperation programme.
