For the eleventh year, students of Latvian educational institutions are pooling together for the collection of sculptures for recycling

In the ./2015 year of 2014, the packaging manager “green belt”, used for the eleventh time, brings together students of Latvian educational institutions in the “clean Latvia!” competition in order to combine shelves, cabinets and attic from old papers and cartons, ensuring that they are processed into valuable secondary raw materials.
The role of the competition is revealed by the Chairman of the “green belt” Board Janis fox: “our organized maculation competition has become a long-term tradition in schools, combining thousands of Latvian pupils with the objective of converting unnecessary papers into valuable secondary raw material, creating new paper. In parallel with the spirit of competition caused by the chassis of the sculpture, children are instructed to properly sort the waste, to know their recycling cycle, to demonstrate the economic and environmental importance of environmental education films and to explain the economic and ecological importance of the processing of paper in creating the environmental awareness of children.
In the 2014/2015 year of the school year, “clean Latvia!” is invited to apply for the general, vocational and pre-school educational institutions, as well as educational institutions of interest. In order to participate in the competition, the representative of the educational institution must register the school in the electronic database of the competition “green belt” by mid-January 2015 www.zalajosta.lvand encourage learners to collect the maculate. It will be possible to collect the maculator by March 2015, the organisers will ensure that they are periodically exported. The winners and the overall achievements of the competition will be announced in May.
In the last year of the school year, when the collection competition celebrated the tenth anniversary, a record number of participants were involved in the collection of unnecessary papers – 373 educational institutions. In general, more than 1270 tonnes of sculptures were collected in the course of the school year, which was delivered for processing in Latvia. At the end of the competition, the participants were able to feel and feel their performance, as each tonne of paper sold received a quality recycled paper from the same magazine. During the last five years of the competition, the “green belt” has sold 4615 tons of sculptures through schools, which could be covered in approximately 77 freight wagons.
“We will continue the tradition in this school year,” says J. Fox, “because we are hoping for more children and young people to participate in the competition this year. Thus, by putting paper on paper, we will help not only achieve a new record of recycled paper, but we will continue to increase the joy of children by letting them hold the paper from the collected paper at the end of the competition. '
Every year, the “green belt” is working with partners who do not only help boost the green philosophy of the competition, but also win the winners memorable prizes. This year, the competition is performed in collaboration with SIA “Līgatne paper”, “Latvian State Forests” and the national education content centre.
The winners of the competition will be awarded with money prizes and valuable environmental statement excursions.
