New junior primary school activities in the framework of “Latvian School Finish”

In the 1 st semester of 2018/2010, when participating in the “Latvian School Finish” initiative, the students of the New Junior School had the opportunity to become more familiar with Latvian culture, architecture, traditions.
The primary school pupils visited Latgale embassy “Gors”, where they met the architecture of the building, learned many facts about the process of building it, all had the opportunity to look at the scenes, sinks, and other spaces that were not all available everyday, everyone had the opportunity to learn about the representatives of the various professions who were working here. The pupils found out why the “Gora” interior had been chosen exactly as a color gamma, could also see the exhibition on the 1 st floor.
In the museum of Latgale cultural history, students in Classes 1-4 participated in the museum pedagogical programme “clay pixel adventures”, in which everyone could learn the physical properties of the clay, learn more about the position - podnieks. As the lesson was practical, children could develop their creativity by creating different jobs. His knowledge of the clay, the Latgale pupils, could be disclosed in response to the questions asked by the Gides.
Classes 6-7 were attended by R.Blauman Museum “Braki”, which offered the museum pedagogical programme “Wine works and non-works”. Children had to be familiar with R.Blauman's work in personals, to feel different roles, to create a study. The acquisition of this programme develops the creativity of pupils, helps to understand the content of the work. On the other hand, in the creative courtyard “bridges”, pupils enriched the knowledge of the characters, knew the legacy of our ancestors, and everyone had the opportunity to act in a studio of jewellery where each could develop their unique ornament, choosing both the characters offered and creating something new, unprecedented.
In the 8 th-9 th classes, students went into the study exsursion to the Law Garden, where they had the opportunity to walk and meet the sites and landscapes created by the Legacy Garden. The narrative, diverse, historical fact of the gides on the fate of Latvian people forced pupils to think again about the complex developments of history. The pupils were given information on the victims of Soviet repression. The memorial of their commemoration was based on human donations.
This study semester was filled with a variety of activities complementary to the content of learning subjects, and in the next half year we will use the opportunities offered by the “Latvian School Finish” initiative to familiarise ourselves with the cultural wealth of our country.
