For the fifth year, the municipality of Rezekne organizes the competition “Rēzekne District Company”. As usual, the best honor took place in Joseph's Day, 19 March, in Latgale Embassy Gore.

All present and, in particular, candidates and winners of the competition, were welcomed by the Chairman OF the Rēzekne District Council Monvīds Švarcs. He thanked all entrepreneurs who produce their products for the domestic market, which exports their products, to all who provide various types of services, and especially thanks to those who operate in the crafts, while maintaining the cultural historical heritage of Latgale. He was comparing his business with seed sown by a farmer in his field. “There is no need to be agronomic to understand that only a strong, healthy seed that is placed in a fertile soil and is protected from any unhealthy effect can give a good harvest. If the company is compared with that seed, the country and the local government are the one who must provide a fertile environment for this seed. '

Other guests, including the Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development Kaspars Gerhards and President of the Council of Latgale Planning Region, Alīna Gendele, emphasized the importance of good cooperation between local government and economic operators. The municipality of Rezekne is one of the pioneers, not in vain, that this year, the municipality of Rezekne received a gratitude article of Latgale planning region on active participation and significant achievements in the promotion of entrepreneurship and a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of Latgale.

At the event, the recognition of the National Inspection for Cultural Monuments as a contribution to the preservation, promotion and sustainable development of cultural heritage was received by Luznava Manor. “Latgale yogendile pearl – Luznava Manor Rēzekne municipality – is an excellent example of the successful protection and management of a cultural monument of national significance,“ giving a prize, ”said the head of Latgale regional division, head of the country's chief Inspector Wilma Platpiere,“ because the renewed cultural monument has not only revived the parish and the cultural life of the municipality, but has also become a fully-fledged tourist destination of the region. ”
