On the day of Joseph, Honor Rēzekne takes the business.
For a second year on 19 March, on the day of Joseph, the only day of the time of the passage of time, when the Christian traditions are allowed to move to unsorrow, the municipality of Rēzekne held an event for entrepreneurs. More than 200 Rēzekne municipality, farmers, producers, livestock farmers, timber processors, and tourism, retail and catering service providers were invited to Dricānu high school grass to discuss different business and cooperation cases in an informal atmosphere at one table. On the day of this year, the winners of the “Rezekne District Company” competition were also performed for the first time. It should be noted that the competition started already in spring 2012 and aimed at identifying entrepreneurs who are active in the municipality, promoting the development of the business environment, employment as well as the attractiveness and visibility of the production areas.
In total, 31 applicants, two of whom refused and one did not comply with the requirements of the law, were invited by the Consultative Council of Rezekne. Consequently, 28 applicants were attended by the Commission at their place of activity.
In nine nominations at nine nominations, a special prize was given at the business day event – the design object of the 4 th course student of the Rēzekne Arts and Design Secondary School Aleksandra Rezvova, which reflects the bright and also complicated way to success (the head of the diplomat, Norbert Kudins).
The prizes earned for honour were distributed in the business day event. The nomination “new company” was awarded TO THE Dricānu parish farm “Višnakovi” (owner Normunds Traikulis), since although the holding was only established on 28 April 2012, it reached stability and growth in the first year of operation.
For the nomination “environmentally friendly company”, companies which constitute their activities in accordance with environmental conservation principles are concerned with environmental health and the attractiveness of the environment. Four applicants were nominated for nomination: “Aizpiekre” in parish Nagļu parish and “Sīļala” Gaigalavas parish, the Inara Oļshevska family doctor and dental practitioner in Nautrēnu parish, as well AS Lendžu parish farm “lapegles”, which also received a prize as the most environmentally friendly company in 2012. It should be noted that the organic farm “lapegles” (owner Vitalijs Spruga) produces beekeeping products including bee bread, propolis honey and wax candles.
The nomination “cultural mecenate” is awarded TO RSEZ SIA “Verems” (Vērēmu civil parish), which has been supporting Cora's concert activities since the formation of the “Trejkola” of Rēzekne, as well as financing the purchase of clothes for the participants of Cora. The “buds” of farms in Dricānu parish was also nominated for nomination.
The nomination “company – the product of a local identity” was invited to apply for companies offering a unique local product or service, forming an original “business card” of Rezekne and contributing to the development of the municipality. The nomination was awarded to the individual merchant “Mayor Bank” IN Bērzgales parish (owner Irina Abramova). The company is unique with the fact that tourists offer trips to snow dogs, participate in dog exhibitions, as well as collaborate with dog societies and organizations not only in Latvia but also abroad.
The nomination “Innovative Product Implementer” was received BY SIA “Rekļagola” IN Nautrēnu parish (Chairman of the Board Evalds melnis). The nomination is given because the company is engaged in the production of an innovative product — multi-annual energy grasses —. The main innovation of the production process is the use of infertile and hard-managed land and the cheap use of alternative fuels.
The nomination “annual craftsman” was put forward by performers of economic operators who, with their work in the field of crafts, make up the identity of the municipality. The award was received by Gatis Lucjanovs from THE parish OF Nagļu. He deals with the production of wood products, such as name signs, dishes, ornamentals and toys, both with traditional and modern methods. Peteris Gailums from Ilzeskalna parish and Jānis Lubka from Nautrēnu parish were also nominated for nomination.
For the nomination “annual domestic producer”, entrepreneurs who use the production of Rezekne in the municipality of Rezekne were applied for. Two bidders were nominated: the farm “hills” from Ozolmuižas parish and the farm “smiling” from Kaunatas parish, which also received an award. The 60 hectares in the large holding owned by Sarmite and Ilmārs ants are grown by vegetables and carved livestock.
Eight applicants were nominated for nomination “annual investor” — a company capable of attracting external financing for the development of its economic activity. The nomination was submitted: RSEZ SIA “LEAX Rēzekne” (Ozolaines parish), SIA “SPRUŽEVA M” (Griškānu parish), as well as the farm “Upiris” (Silmalas civil parish), “spring” (Silmalas civil parish), “singer” (Bērzgales civil parish), “Dainas” (Ilzeskalna civil parish) and “jasminins” (Gaigalavas civil parish). The prize was received by the farm “diamonds” from Ilzeskalna parish (owner Elmar Kotane). The main occupation of the holding is cereals. In order to develop economic activity, the financing of THE EU Structural Funds was successfully linked to “diamonds”.
The nomination “annual enterprise” was awarded for an active economic activity, modernisation of the company, as well as a contribution to the development of employment, tax levies and the participation of chaklu in the formation of the municipality through public activities. The nomination was nominated: SIA “Asko AS” from Ozolaines parish, SIA “oak ZI” from Dricānu parish, SIA “Daugavvieši” from Silmalas parish and farm “fishermen” from THE parish OF Nagļu.
The nomination “annual enterprise” was awarded to two bidders: SIA “particle PV” from Kaunatas parish, which performs felling, timber transportation and the provision of road transport services. It should be noted that in 2011, the company financially supported the association SCN sport. The nomination “annual company” was also awarded TO SIA “crutches from Silmalas parish, which deals with both livestock farming and fruit-growing. This year, AS part of THE RDP programme“ modernisation of the farm ”, a project is implemented in the company, leading to the acquisition of various agricultural machinery.
By congratulating entrepreneurs, the Commission representative of the competition evaluation, Nautrēnu parish head of administration Livija Plavinska said the courage of entrepreneurs to work with such a way to ensure not only their family, but also to give work to co-workers. On the other hand, the President OF the Rēzekne council, Monvīds Švarcs, thanked the active businessmen who chose their mind, the strength and love of their native country and their own mother-in-law, “a day from the day you have to work long hours, ensuring the existence of your businesses, so at least once a year you deserve to meet together to rest and maybe one of the others will get some idea that will be useful in the development of companies.”
