How to develop social entrepreneurship in Rezekne District?

On 19 February, a discussion on social entrepreneurship opportunities in Rezekne municipality took place in the municipality of Rezekne. The event was organised by the Latvian Social Entrepreneurship Association (LSUA) in cooperation with the Rēzekne municipality and the British Council representative. Here are some valuable insights from the discussion.
What societal challenges can be addressed by social entrepreneurship in Rēzekne District? In what sectors of business could these companies operate?

What forms of cooperation should be developed and what can be done by the local government, businesses, NGOs and any of you in order to develop social entrepreneurship in the Rēzekne District?

• Remote services - structured sharing of skills within the Community (each side taught something to others)
• WORKING GROUP: The local government consists of a working group – co-ordinator, volunteering, social entrepreneurship of the municipality – meets 2 x per week and addresses issues related to social entrepreneurship.
• Identify problems in each of the areas, sectors.
• Get together and talk about values, cooperation, the Community, creativity, “vary and cooperate” rather than compete.
• More information on social entrepreneurship.
• Overcome stereotypes, including how social entrepreneurship is perceived.
• Invest in the strengthening of the Communities, invest in communication and information to encourage the achievement of prosperity at the place where you live.
• There must be feedback, a result after appointments, seminars, a regulated and structured workshop work.
• Talking about realistic targets, achievable results, at least one result implemented, presenting ideas.
• They must be self-employed as ambassadors of social entrepreneurship, disseminate information themselves.
