What documents should be taken with the doctor?

The medical practitioner OF SIA “Rezekne Hospital”, on the basis of the law of the patients, shall, on the basis of a specialist advice, call for personal identification documents when carrying out an examination or entering a hospital.
For adults:
personal identification document - passport or identification card (driving licence is not a personal identification document!);
• insurance policy (if any);
• results of recent examinations and analyses (if any);
• referral from a family doctor or specialist who has contractual relations with the National Health Service (NVD) to receive a State-paid service;
• a document certifying membership of the patient-exempt group of persons (if any).
Children under 14 years of age (visit a doctor with adults only):
with one of the parents
birth certificate of the child giving an older name and a more cooler passport or identification card
or
child passport or identification card and older passport with child
with other persons (sister, brother, grandparents and other relatives)
a notarially approved or Rēzekne hospital shall be authorised to represent the legal rights and interests of the child, as well as an adult passport or identification card.
For children from 15 years of age:
passport or identification card.
Emergency aid in any event.
In emergency situations, the provision of medical assistance will not be affected by the availability of all necessary documents at the time, and the patient will receive assistance regardless of the required documents. The doctors of the Rezekne hospital emphasize that even if a child to a hospital with broken leg, sharp pain in the stomach, or a heavier injury will be brought by a foreign man, emergency medical aid will be provided!
BUT, derogations are not allowed for scheduled treatment and care services such as surgery, examinations and medical advice.
