Education

As of September 2018, as part of “Latvian School Finish”, every student of our country is given the opportunity to know and face the cultural and natural values of Latvia, to explore the innovations and business success stories created in Latvia at various times. As a result of this project, the 80-Kaunatas secondary school students went to Latgale Embassy GORE cinema on 6 November to watch director Dāja Simon play “father night” with Arthur Skrastiņš in the main, Žan Lipke.
The events of the film on people's fate in the Second World War, both under the demands of Nazi and by risking life and saving Jews from shooting, made young people wonder. When they split up, they found that after watching the film, many war events were better understandable. Of course, the cruelty of the war is stunning, as well as the heroic work of Jan Lipke and his family, which many did not dare. Many discussions on the film continued at home with parents, as well as in history and literature.
