On November 30, 2017, the Latvian National Library presented the cultural sign “Latvia Heritage” to 16 rural tourism entrepreneurs as a gratitude for the progress made so far in the multiplication of cultural heritage. The cultural mark was also received by the ceramic workshop “Zukrasata” (Staņislavs Vilnius and Anna Viola Bīriņa) in the municipality of Rēzekne, Ozolaines.
The cultural mark “Latvian Heritage” on the preservation and demonstration of the Latvian cultural heritage was presented to businessmen by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, Dace Melbarde and Deputy Prime Minister of Latvia, Gints Kukainis.
The cultural sign “Latvian Heritage” is presented to Latvian tourism entrepreneurs who retain and multiply the Latvian cultural heritage by presenting them to visitors. The sign is created and presented since 2013 after the “rural traveller” initiative to honor and show the Latvian cultural and household heritage living today. After this sign, you can recognize places where visitors are ready to show and tell, respect Latvian food, teach posts and skills, celebrate Latvian festivals.
As a whole, the mark has already been received by 88 holdings throughout Latvia. Each trade mark is awarded for a specific skill or an expression of the Latvian lifestyle that is also involved in tourism.
