Education

On October 21, for a third year, a second-year competition “with the heart in Rēzekne District” was held for a third year. In his knowledge of the Rēzekne municipality, eight high school teams, Lucia Rananes McKashan High School, Tiskad High School, Dricānu High School, Nautrēnu High School, and two teams from Maltas and Kaunatas secondary schools. The participants of the competition had to answer both the hostile questions of the head of the contest, the education of the Minister of Education of Rezekne, and to decrypt the names of the village of his parish, to know where our public lakes are located in the parish, and also to recognize the most prominent people. The recognition of personalities by the photographs was the greatest difficulty, the only one that was recognized by all the teams was a member of the Rēzekne council and a musician OF Guntis Rasims. Also, the recognition of ceramic styles was not easy, but in general terms, high school students were able to deal with the fact that they had been prepared for the competition.
It is possible to praise the young people who came to the organisers after the competition and wished to find out the correct answer of the question, or they were interested in some significant personality, which had not previously been known, for example, for THE Bērzgales-born Latgale public employee Staņislava Kambalu (1893 –1941), whose memory, in anticipation of the centuries of Latvia, would certainly be honoured. Stanislavs Kambala was a politician (representative of Latgale in the People's Council/1918-1920/, Secretary of the Council of the People's Council, Member of the Constitutional Meeting, Vice-President of the Constitutional Meeting), a versatile man – a financial employee, editor, publisher, member of the 1917 Latgale Congress, as well as the only representative from Latgale, who participated in the proclamation act of the Republic of Latvia on 18 November 1918.
This time he won a Nautrēnu secondary school team (Karlis Barkans, Amanda Lele, Elvita Kotane, Christine Lebane, Arthur Trimalnieks). Only one and a half points behind the money was THE second team of Kaunatas secondary school, “Kaunata” (March Vasilieva Daina Kudravska, Justine Kablanova, Roland Katkovsky, Oscars Dubovskis). In the third place, THERE was a Dricānu high school team with only girls (Agnese Strucka, Inga Cross, Imalda Kazushhev, Santa Kalvane, Caitty Kindzule). Last year winners – Kaunatas High School 1 st team “aesis and brave” from third place lasted only 0.2 points!
The winners acknowledged that the questions had not been too difficult, and most of them could be found by regular review of the Rēzekne District website, which had also been used by the most in preparation for the competition.
