15 projects approved for the “summer period of youth work” competition

A project of the municipal projects of the municipality of Rezekne is concluded “for the summer period of youth work practice”. A total of 31 youth applications were submitted, of which 15 projects were approved. Supported young people will promote useful leisure opportunities and the promotion of non-formal education in the various rural areas of Rezekne from 1 June to 31 August.
During this period, various youth ideas will be implemented – environmental protection measures, organisation of sports games, strengthening cultural and Latvian traditions, as well as the development of parish and self-defence skills.
The work practices will be performed by young people of Rezekne who finish classes 9, 10 or 11 (courses 1 and 2 in vocational schools) this year. The municipality of Rezekne has made more than 7000 EURO for the implementation of youth work practices, so the work of young people will receive remuneration, which will be the first paid salary for some of them. Consequently, this competition gives young people the opportunity to take the first steps in their own adult life and to obtain important work skills that will be useful in the future.
