28 bidders submitted for the competition “Rezekne municipality 2016”

For the fifth year, the municipality of Rezekne organizes the competition “Rēzekne District Company”. This year, 28 applicants have been nominated in nine nominations. Similarly to previous years, the most successful candidates – nine – are nominated in the nomination “annual company”. Six applicants have been nominated in the nomination “year-new company”, while four entrepreneurs have been nominated in the nomination “annual craftsman”. This year, the winners will be identified for the first time in the nomination “annual family business”, followed by three applicants.

As of 26 October, the Commission visits the bidders to assess the activities of the undertakings, the attraction of investments, the creation of new jobs, the quality of the products or services produced, the originality, the environment and other aspects.

The Commission will be chaired by a Member of the Rēzekne District, Chairman OF the Standing Committee on Territorial Development, Planning, Economy, Environment and Infrastructure, Kaspars Melnis. The Commission will also be a member of the municipality council Janis Macans, head of the development planning department Inga Zapāne, a representative of the consultative council of entrepreneurs and owner OF THE ZS “Tiptops”, the title of “annual company – the VIP 2014” acquirer Janis Kuzminskis, the representative of the Rēzekne Technology Academy, Iveta Mietule, THE head of the Čornajas parish administration Oļegs Kvitkovskis and the head of THE Sakstagala parish council “Kantinieku parish administration” Maria Vasilieva.

As usual, the winners of the competition will be honoured at a formal ceremony on 19 March 2017 at Latgale Embassy GORE.
