Competition 'best social worker in Latvia - 2017

The Ministry of Welfare (LM) announces the competition “best social worker in Latvia – 2017” from 16 January to 15 February. The aim of the competition is to identify and say thank the social workers in Latvia who are active and honest in social work practice, provide professional support to citizens in solving and preventing various social problems and promoting the profession of social worker in Latvia.
Applicants are nominated and evaluated in the following nominations:

  • Best Social Social Officer of the Social Service in Latvia 2017
  • Best Population Social Employee in Latvia 2017
  • Best Employer's Head of Social Institution in Latvia 2017
  • Best Employer Social Worker in Latvia 2017

The candidate, with the highest number of points, regardless of nomination, is referred to as the best social worker in Latvia in 2017.
The competition LM is implemented in cooperation with the social workers' association, the European Union of Latvia, the Association of Social Services of Latvia and the association of professional social work specialists of Latvia, whose representatives will be working in the jury to evaluate the questionnaires submitted and to grant appropriate titles. The panel will be examined and the decision will be adopted by 16 March 2018.
The filing of applications shall be carried out electronically at:
· https://www.visidati.lv/aptauja/1329287782/ - to be completed by employers, professional and non-governmental associations;
· https://www.visidati.lv/aptauja/1329206138/ - to be completed by citizens, private persons (links are available on THE LM website), questionnaires are drawn up electronically, providing that each applicant should provide answers to all questionnaires on the applicant, thereby excluding the possibility of providing different, too extended and subjective responses, providing equivalent requirements and opportunities against all tenderers.
The applicant, whose practice and knowledge of the questionnaires have been assessed by the questionnaires in each questionnaire question and the maximum number of points in the questionnaire, will not be evaluated because of the fact that, when assessing the maximum number of points in all categories of questions, the questionnaire applicant has not been objective despite the assumption that each applicant is good faith in its completion.
