Ministry of Culture calls on the people of Latgale region to participate in the public consultation
The Ministry of Culture invites the people of Latgale region to participate in the public consultation on the project of the national identity, civil society and integration policy plan 2019-2020. The public consultation will be held on 25 May 2018 at 11.00 In the premises of the Centre FOR Prevention OF Prevention (Cooperative Street 6, Preiļi).
We want to inform that the implementation plan of the national identity, civil society and integration policy in 2019-2020 (hereinafter – the plan) is designed to ensure a continuation of the objectives and performance indicators of the national identity, civil society and integration policy guidelines for the period 2012-2018, as well as the continuity and continuity of the sectoral policies.
The plan shall be considered as a transitional period plan to achieve harmonisation with the operational deadlines of the national development plan in the next sectoral policy planning cycle (2021-2027), in accordance with the Cabinet Regulation of 2 December 2014 “Regulations for the Development and Impact of Development Planning Documents”.
The directions of the plan and the identified tasks:
1. Action: civil society and integration
1.1. Educating society about the opportunities for civic participation.
1.2. Promote the participation of citizens through sustainable support mechanisms.
1.3. Promote tolerance and the integration of socially excluded groups into society.
2. Direction of action: national identity: language and culture.
2.1. Strengthen Latvian language literacy.
2.2. Strengthen the cultural space of Latvia as a foundations for society.
2.3. Strengthen the sense of belonging to Latvia and the awareness of unified historical values.
2.4. Build a high-quality, democratic information space and increase the role of media in integration and strengthening national identity.
3. Action direction: Establishment of a new model of governance and coordination of integration policies.
3.1. Ensure the planning of integration policies based on data and evidence.
3.2. Ensure the development of innovative integration policy planning methods.
