The cultural event “church night” will become bigger this year – it will be complemented by the promotion of “churches”

This year, the Christian cultural event “church night” will continue to join churches in Latvia and beyond, opening doors to visitors on Saturday, May 30, evening. This year, the event will also be accompanied by the promotion of “apceļosim Church”, which will invite visitors to go to the gods from 12.00. The registration of churches for participation in the event and the promotion of the “churches” will be open from 1 March to 12 April at www.baznicunakts.lv.
For the convenience of visitors, the organisers of “church night” have changed the usual day of the event, extending the event this year and taking a Saturday instead of Friday evening. Changes were made by listening to the events of the event and adapting the event format to the holiday event. The annual event will be complemented by the promotion of “churches” and it is planned that the promotion will extend the usual event programme of “church night”, allowing visitors to travel a number of gods in different cities during the day. We expect that the churches that will participate in both events will be open from 12.00 noon to midnight. The traditional “church night” cultural programme in the gods will begin at 18.00 and long until midnight.
As part of the campaign, every guest of the event will have the opportunity not only to explore the variety of cultural heritage of the gods, but also to participate in the drawing of valuable prizes. Following similarities with other cultural events, visitors will have the opportunity to collect visit stamps to participate in the prize.
This year, the “church night” event will be translated into a common theme and a theme of “God's story”, which will call on what i am myself and what is my place and role in the story of God, and what is my own story in relations with God.
The organisers appreciate and thank each friend for the implementation of the “church night” initiative in their girlfriends and the time spent to prepare the event.

On the cultural event “church night”
This year “church night” will take place in Latvia for the Seventh year. The event has become a spiritual cultural experience in Latvia's life, bringing together more than 100 gods each year, where visitors are invited to explore the church, its cultural and spiritual values through various events. In recent years, the “church night” event also joins Latvian congregations outside Latvia, which contributes to strengthening the spiritual and cultural values of the Latvian diaspora. The events of “church night” are suitable for families, groups of friends and individual visitors and are free of charge.
The idea of “church night” has come to Latvia from Austria and the Czech Republic. 13 years ago, “church night” began in Austria as an ecumenical event organised by Christian church confessions and threats. Soon after, it also took place in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but since 2012 “church night” is also held in Tartu, Estonia.

“Church night” is organised by a group of interconfessional domains - a foundation “church night foundation”.
