Where can it be safe to swim?

The municipality of Rezekne has conducted regular monitoring of bathing waters in public water bodies and local government properties. Samples of bathing water are taken in pond at Audriņu school, Razna lakes (“Ezerkrasti”), Ismer – Zogota lakes, Solorer lakes, Dricānu centre pond, Feimaņu lakes (“active beach”), Partova lakes, Idzepoles lakes, Razna lakes (c. Veresovka, Lamashi), Veridian Lake, Zosna Lake (c. Geese), Chernoste lakes, Poopolu reservoir (c. Bex), Ozolmuižas centre pond, Pušas lake (Pušas village centre), Tiskad Lake (c. Old River), in the Aamovo Lake (c. Adamov), Anchupan water reservoir, in the village of the trolley (Čornajas civil parish).
Physico-chemical and microbiological examinations were performed as well as visual observations of each bathing site. According to microbiological indicators and visual inspection results of the bathing water quality monitoring, the pond at Audriņu in the school, Dricānu centre pond and Anchupan water reservoirs (increased quantity of E.Coli) is not recommended, while the other bathing sites mentioned above are allowed to swim.
The bathing sites in Luban Lake (Gaigalavas parish area) and Razna Lake (Lipušku village - at the school) are included in the list of bathing sites to be monitored by the State budget.
We call on the population to be cautious in the pond, as there is mostly standing water and, in the event of favourable climatic conditions, it is more likely to reproduce E.Coli bacteria.
In 2015, the municipality of Rezekne has concluded a contract with the Scientific Institute for Food Safety, Animal Health and the Environment “BIOR” on the performance of bathing water quality monitoring. The monitoring of bathing sites in this year will be performed once a month (June, July and August).
