Where can it be safe to swim?
The municipality of Rezekne conducts the monitoring of bathing waters in public water bodies and local government properties. In June, samples of bathing waters were taken: in the pond at Audriņu, in the Meuranium Lake (Bērzgales in the village), the Razna Lake (“Ezerkrasti”), the Ismer – the Zogota Lake, the Solorer Lake, THE Dricānu centre pond, Feimaņu in the lake (“the active beach”), the bee lake (“Koshevo”), the Rēzekne river (“punduri”), THE Rēzekne river (“punduri”), THE Rēzekne Lake, the Iberpoles lakes, the Razna Lake (c. Veresovka, Lamashi), Viraudas Lake, Veridian Lake, Zosna Lake (c. Geese), Chernoste Lake, at Nagļu village locks (to Maltas river), Poopola reservoir, Ozolmuižas centre pond, Pušas lakes (Pušas village centre), Tiskad Lake (c. Old River), at the Spruuktu reservoir (on the Rēzekne River), at the Rēzekne River (Poludu Bridge), Dziļuta Lake, Sherjan Lake, Adamovas Lake (c. Adamova), two Anchupan water reservoirs, a cardholder's village pond (Čornajas civil parish). Physico-chemical and microbiological examinations were performed, as well as visual observations of each bathing site. In accordance with microbiological indicators of the monitoring of bathing water quality and the results of visual inspection, it is permitted to swimming in these bathing areas, except for the boarder's village pond where the bathing is not recommended, as it is determined that the number of floating waste and enterococcus exceeds the permissible norm.
The bathing sites in Luban Lake (Gaigalavas parish area) and Razna Lake (Lipušku village - at the school) are included in the list of bathing sites to be monitored by the State budget.
In 2014, the municipality of Rezekne has concluded a contract with SIA “prophylactic hygiene service laboratory” for the performance of the bathing water quality monitoring. The monitoring of bathing sites in this year will be performed once a month (June, July and August).
