The best teachers of Latgale receive Nicodema Ranana Prize, among them three teachers of Rezekne municipality

On Sunday, 13 September, an excellent Catholic clerk and pedagogist, Latgale's first awakening employee Nikodema Ranana Prize for Latgale teachers, was presented to the Rēzekne Higher Cultural Society. The goal of the prize and competition that was established this year was to strengthen the prestige and visibility of the pedagogical profession in society, honouring outstanding achievements in pedagogical action and the development of Latgalian cultural traditions in the new generation.
The final event and the award of the prizes took place directly at the 145 th birthday of Monsignor Nicodema Ranana, in his self-occupied Rēzekne national teacher institute, who continues to work today and is known as the University of Rezekne.
The competition was awarded 31 teachers in four nominations.
The prize for contributions and achievements in the implementation and revitalisation of Latgalian language, cultural history and municipality training in the educational/study environment of the school/higher education institution was received by THE Teronika Dundure and Baltinava Secondary School teacher Imants Slišāns. In contrast, the special award was received by Anita Zogota from THE Nautrēnu secondary school, which was awarded by her pupils.
The award for innovation in the educational process (the use of new methods, approaches, strategies, modern technologies in learning and educational work, methodological works, publications, promotion of experience, work with parents, etc.) was received by Olga Grišāne, a teacher of the National Gymnasium of Daugavpils, while the special prize - Viļānu secondary school teacher Felicija Leščinska.
The nomination for a modern and creative approach to the teaching of pupils and the training of posts for Daugavpils construction technician Aleksandram Boginskim, while the special award is awarded to the teacher of Baltinava High School and Baltinava music and art school, Iveta Gabrane.
From teachers whose length of service does not exceed three years, the special award for the most successful teacher Debbie (initiative, ability to excite, interest, motivate pupils, innovation, etc.) received Nautrēnu secondary school teachers Guntra Kuzmina.
A special award for merit in the development and promotion of Latgalian literary language was received by the doctorate of philosophical sciences, Prof. Lidija Lukums. Daugavpils University Faculty, LU Philology Faculty Catalan Associated Professor is active in the Latgalian language orthography in the Commission, the Latgalian language, literature and cultural history teacher association, the Riga Latgalian association “Third Star”.

The solemn moment at Nicodema Ranan's monument was covered by THE classical instrument section of THE Ivanova Rēzekne music secondary school, Christine Mazavko, and Victoria Radomane, the attendance of the Roman Catholic Church in Rezekne, the Bishop OF the Catholic Catholic Church, V.E. Janis bulis, the President of the Rēzekne Latgalese cultural association Livija Plavinska, the rector of Rezekne's university, Professor Edmunds Teirumnieks, poet Anna Rancāne. On the other hand, the celebration of the prize was vitiated by a vitality and a sullen Latgalian humor, which was exploded by the actor Imants Slišāns and Jezups Jermacans, who felt in THE heroes of N. Ranana's stories - Kristop Bram and Mikelis (the scenario author lasted Suplinska). A long flight was inspired by the men's choir “Ghost” (manager J. Mežinski). There has also been an unprecedented work in the event - the translation of MR Carol's book “Alice in the Land” in Latgalian language. Book designers - translator Evik Muizniece, Valentin Lukashevics and Sandra Udre, book editor of Suplinska.
Let us hope that this tradition of Nicodema Ranana's prize will continue next year, but this time thanks to the supporters -- the Rēzeknis High School, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Dagda, Aglona, Rezekne, Ludza Municipality, the newspaper 'education and culture', the portal Lakuga.lv, the Rezekne Latgalian cultural association.
