Reading championships in finals in Riga

On Saturday, May 12, the national final of Vistatia's loud reading competition took place in the National Library of Latvia.
The Latvian National Library, together with the Latvian children's and youth literature Council, libraries and schools throughout Latvia, began special reading competitions in September last year, involving more than seven thousand 5 th and 6 th grade students who like to read. On May 12, 29 regional reading championships met in Riga, including our Maltas high school class 6a School Cynthia Diana Potapova, who represented Rēzekne District, reading a fragment from the “oak book” of the Board of Justice. To support Cynthia for Riga, the classmates, the class nurse Inna Mironova, the Latvian language teacher Nelly Krasnobay and the librarian Antoņina Krūza.
We heard a lot of wonderful snippets from books read by the 500 listeners reading championships from across Latvia. The competition was assessed by an experienced jury – the chairman of the board of the company “Star ABC”, Otto Oak (writer and journalist), Ivars Svilāns (public relations expert), Ilze Dobele (LNT news moderator) and Krista Burāne (theatre and cinema director).
The task of the jury was not easy because the loud reading level was very high for all participants. The traveling cup was received by Robert Ozolins from Dobeles for a year as the children's director of the National Library of Latvia.
Thank Cynthia Diana Potapoo for his readiness, diligence and passion to participate in the loud reading competition! Thank Cynthia's parents and teachers who have made a job. Thanks TO THE President of THE Maltas parish, Vitaly Skoov, who provided travellers with transport, and drivers Alexander Romanov and Alexander Shamnev for safe delivery to the final destination and back home!
