Latgale participated in international tourism exhibition ADVENTURE 2018 Vilnius, Lithuania
On 26-28 January, an international tourism exhibition ADVENTURE 2018 was held in Vilnius. Representatives of the Latgale Tourism Association “Ezerland” - Yelena Kiashko from the Rēzekne Tourism Development Centre (TAC) and Anita Mortuzāne from Ludza District Tourism Information Centre (BELIEVES) participated in THE Latvian stand organised BY THE IDA, where all regions of Latvia were represented. This year, Latvia's stalls attracted visitors with their new appearance and the slogan “Magnetic Latvia”.
The interest in the tourism offer of Latgale region was large. The new tourist charts “active holidays in Russian and English” issued by the regional association “Ezerland” could be received on the bench, as well as the informative materials of the municipality. Many visitors were interested in the opportunities to visit palace and manors. There was an interest in active recreational offers, cycling routes, as well as resting for families with children. As Lithuania is in our neighbourhood, a large proportion of the visitors to the exhibition have been in Latvia, including Latgale, remembering their journey with joy and wishing to return.
This year Latgale can hope to increase the number of Lithuanian tourists due to the start of a train in Daugavpils. In practice, all the visitors knew this fact and enjoyed the opportunity to visit Daugavpils in this way.
THE exhibition ADVENTURE has been the largest international tourism exhibition in the Baltic States since 2013. Over five years, the number of participants has increased by 150% and the number of visitors – by 80%. More than 350 participants from 30 countries of the world participated in the exhibition this year.
The participation of Latgale region in the exhibition was organised with the support of THE LIDA, the European Regional Development Fund, Latgale municipal and Latgale tourism association “Ezerland”. Contract number PAR-LIAA-2018/8.
