Latgale tourism association “Ezerland” will organise training and Latgale tourism conference

As with each year, the tourism sector of the Latvian tourism association “EZERLAND” will also organise a free training, exchange of experience and annual Latgale tourism conference.
On October 19-20, Latgale tourism entrepreneurs, guides and tourist information centre specialists will go through an exchange of experience to North America and South Estonia. During the trip there will be a chance to meet Seta's land: to see guest houses, home-producer shops, guest houses etc., introducing innovative tourism offers.
On 25 – 26 October, a training cycle will be held at the Rēzekne municipality in the “Green Island”, which will be dedicated to the campsite. The campsite theme for Latgale tourism sector is particularly topical as the number of foreign tourists arriving in the region is increasing every year, but the number of campsites is currently insufficient and the existing infrastructure needs to be adjusted according to customer requirements. A representative of the Latvian campsite association Linda Bēce and a representative of the European campsite association from the Netherlands will run lessons, telling about the creation and development of campsites, work with customers. The listeners will also be offered a handout on this topic, a practical business reality game will be organized, and the trends of the campsite development in the world and Latgale cut will be considered.
On 1 November, a training seminar on the promotion of tourism objects and destinations using Instagram facilities and other modern marketing tools will be organised in Daugavpils, hotel “Park Hotel Latgola”. The seminar will be directed by Instagram bloger Brigita Dambe and the senior expert of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) tourism marketing department, Lelde Beņķe.
On 10 November, THE annual Latgale tourism conference will be held at Lūznavas Manor. During this time, the Chairman of the Board of the Latgale Tourism Association “Ezerland” will provide an insight into the tourist season. Inese Šīrava, head of THE LATVIAN Tourism Department, will discuss trends in tourism development. The commercial activity consultant of Latgale Planning Region Latgale Business Support Centre Andris Kucins will inform the tourism business environment development opportunities. Professor of Vidzeme High School, researcher, member of Latvian economist association Dr oec. Agita Līviņa will provide professional advice on how to maintain unique values by using tourism and making it possible to earn. Regina Indriķe, head of the Nature Education Centre of Latgale Regional Administration of Latgale, will discuss natural tourism and environmental accessibility in specially protected natural areas in Latgale. The Presidency of the Rural Tourism Association “Rural traveller”, Asnate Ziemele, analysing the 2017 statistics, trends and activities will provide insights into the association's actuarial events and inform about the 2018 plans. A representative of the “rural traveller” and a tourism expert, Juris Smaļinskis, will discuss the heritage of agriculture, crafts, fisheries etc. in Agro tourism. The historian of the Kandava municipality, Agris dzenis, will focus on the heritage of agricultural traditions in Latvia.
At the end of the conference, the prizes will be presented in 6 nominations, summing up the best Latgale tourism in 2017.
A member of the board of the Kurzeme Tourism Association, the owner of the “raibie logi” Hotel (Ventspils) Guntars Seilis, will participate in the role of Latgale Tourism Conference.
The events are organised by the Latgale tourism association Ezerland with support and co-financing of THE LATVIAN Tourism Department and Latgale municipalities. Part 2 of the Latgale Tourism Conference is organised with the Rural Tourism Association field traveller in the framework of the project “Agricultural traditions heritage in Agro tourism in Latvia and Lithuania” financed by the European Union Interreg Latvia - Lithuania programme 2014-2020
