Latgale tourism offer presented at tourism exhibition in Poland

From 22 to 24 April, the annual tourism exhibition “lato 2016” was held in the capital of Poland in Warsaw, where the tourism offer of Latgale region was presented this year. Latgale region's participation in the exhibition was provided by Latgale Region Development Agency and Latgale Planning Region with support from Latgale local government and regional tourism information centres.
In three days, visitors of the exhibition were given the opportunity to explore the tourism offer of Latgale region, cultural heritage, learn about active tourism opportunities and craftsmanship traditions. The visitors of the exhibition and Latgale stands mainly interested in the cultural heritage of Latgale, as well as the opportunities for active and natural tourism.
“According to statistical data, tourists from Polish Latgale visit quite a lot,” says Māris Bozovičs, Director of the Development Agency of Latgale Region. “We can be interested in both our nature and our traditions and our history.”
The Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Poland Ilgvars maple was welcomed in the exhibition of Latgale region, noting that Latvia is important to each tourist, and the Polish market has very large potential.
