Latgale tourism specialists have successfully completed their work in the tourism exhibition Balttour

In the largest annual event of Latvia – 25 th international tourism exhibition “Balttour 2018”, which took place on 2-4 February, the tourism specialists of Latgale municipality and city local governments popularised the diversity of Latgale tourism opportunities.
“Balttour 2018” brought 860 tourist companies and their representatives from 39 countries of the world in one place. To find out the tourist opportunities of different countries, to reveal new routes, to purchase a journey for himself and to the family, more interested than last year – a total of 29 630.
Thanks to Latgale tourism association “Ezerland” for targeted work, support for Latgale municipalities and Latgale planning region, the single stand included a wide range of tourism available in Latgale – accommodation, viewing facilities, cycling routes, tourism routes, cultural heritage, active tourism opportunities, offers to families with children, recreation at waters and natural sites. Latgale local tourism information centre specialists have prepared new tourism materials for visitors to the exhibition, which will definitely help to schedule travel to Latgale. On the other hand, Latgale tourism association had prepared a new tourism card for the exhibition “active holiday in Latgale”, which brings together the best offers to families with children.
In Latgale stands, the traditionally large consent was Latgale ceramic. In the course of all three exhibitions around Kraslava's ceramic vald and Olga Paulins' podiers, a large number of leads gathered. Much consent was also given to activities of the Daugavpils bats centre, which particularly addressed families with children. Razna National Park and Kroma coln brutalist also presented their tourism offer. For the visitors of the Latgale stand, the apmeklētājiem of the “Cells” bakery in Charsukova, Smakovka burner-maker Janis Krivtejo, and the Turkish village, Grigorie Enins, with unusual natural delicities, had taken care of the visitors of Latgale stands.
As a special call for the opening of Latgale visitors, a lottery-quiz was offered in the three-day stand, during which more than 300 Latgale tourist service providers were covered. The interest was great. The visitors of the exhibition were very happy to participate in the quiz, trying to respond to the hostile questions and, with satisfaction, received gift cards, products or discount cards for Latvian tourist companies. The lucky winners received the hotel “Park Hotel Latgola” * * * (Daugavpils) gift – accommodation in a two-seat business-class room, “Good Stay Dinaburg SpA Hotel” * * * (Daugavpils) gift – accommodation in a decorated double-room room and a free visit of a recreational complex, a restaurant “ART HUB” gift card worth 30 EURO, invitations to visit Daugavpils Mark Rootko art centre, Smakovka museum free of charge. The all-off tourist entrepreneurs and municipalities of the municipality had organised a truly excellent prize: Marika Rudzīte – Griķe, Lephen District Tourism village, Kraslava producers, Ludza amateur centre, Mārīte Lipska, Raivo Anderson (Preiļi), “Jasha podi”, “Carthy bakery's“ depths ”, Ludza municipality museum, BELIEVES and salon“ Pelnruplate dream ”,“ active recreation ”, Zilupes municipality entrepreneurs, wine snails nursery,“ Pampokas ”, Preilu River Gide, SpA procedures, SIA“ Pelloid ”Ludza. In view of the fact that visitors were more visitors this year, we hope to see more visitors in Latgale this summer.
The visitors of Latgale stand were interested in resting families with children, resting on waters, active recreational facilities, culinary heritage, tourism routes, new tourism objects and accommodation. As in previous years, there was an interest in nature parks and individual natural objects that year.
During the exhibition, the winners of the competition “Year of the Year 2017” were awarded. We welcomed and sincerely congratulated our counsellor, the museum of Aglona's bread museum, Kudiņš, which became the “year man in tourism 2017” in the nomination “tourism businessman in Latvia region 2017” and Egita Tereszi Jonani (newspaper “Latgales time”), which was referred to as “tourism journalists (bloggers) 2017”. It is noteworthy that “the year man in tourism 2016” is determined by the jury in nine people composed by tourism experts in collaboration with “BalticTravelnews.com”. The “year man in tourism” has two criteria: public activity in favour of the tourism sector or an innovative idea which has a positive impact on Latvian tourism industry. This year, the prize was presented for the 15 th time and has gained a significant status in the Latvian tourism sector.
After a creative and intense work at the exhibition, we will prepare for the new tourism season and we will be happy to wait for tourists in Latgale. Four international tourist exhibitions - fairs in Finland, the Netherlands, Lithuania and Latvia have already been celebrated this year in promotion of tourism tourism. Further work is expected in international tourism exhibitions in Estonia, Germany (Munich and Berlin) and Belarus.
