The aim of the Latvian School Chess Olympics is to find out how many schools in Latvia can play chess, how many schools have a chess or a chess hour, how to help those Latvian schools who want to introduce a chess to their pupils daily. Such a chess is promoted not only as a sport but also a useful way of spending leisure in youth. Cooperation between chess trainers, teachers, sharing experience and the best school chess in each region and Latvia is encouraged.
The special favor of the Latvian School Chess Olympics is the Transport Communications Institution (TSIs), in keeping with the memorial Souvenirs – a chess figure formed IN 3D technique for each participant and various surprising awards – special sweets, TSI notebooks. FOR all the participants of the hundreds of games, TSIs gave Yo-Yo the courage to sit against the strongest Latvian chess. Each school received a special diploma from the European Chess Union (ECU), which was organised and signed by the Vice-President of the European Chess Union Dana Reizniece-oak. “This is a honorary diploma for schools in which the smallest chess of chess is felt – one small chess who is willing to represent school and participate in competitions,” Nellie McLkov says.
In each final, as one of the most valuable awards, the third book of the Latvian Sports Federation Council's sports methodological literature series “art winning” is presented, which was presented to Latvian women's champion Elizabeth Limanovsk and the main judge Edwin Dzirkalim, who gave children the symulum games in the final of Latgale region.
