Easter Creative Workshops in Stalerow

Culture

Sunny Saturday invited every Stoļerovas population to Easter Creative Workshops. Beautiful Easter decorations from natural gifts could be made by anyone, regardless of age or degree of preparedness. The scholarly children, with mothers and grandmother, learned in Latvian culture all the well-known decorative elements – puzura – from canes and straw. We also enjoyed ourselves by creating colourful paper suns. Laura and Jelena Nedushenka took care of the work of the exciting workshops.

The determination encouraged us all to take and remember the golden-glossy straw puzzles of the childhood, but this time we had learned to use more rough natural material – kidneys. Undeniable before getting started, you need to know the correct preparation of the material, the twisting of the same length of 12 reeds, which can later be found in the form of a romba figure with the help of the thread. The penetrating needle was “assembled” by metal wire, which also allowed the thread to pass through longer cane straws.

With a smile, patience and interest, all the creative artists formed puzzles. We hope it was not the last meeting before Easter, and we will continue to build decorative elements so that we can dig up our parish and teach our friends.
