Every year, the world's international biodiversity day is celebrated on 22 May. In honour of this day, Luban wetted the information centre with the opportunity for every natural friend and interest to go into the forest of the forest “life in the tree”, which will take place on 26 May. Under the direction of an expert of the Environmental Protection Administration and an Entomologist or insect researcher, Gunta stone, we shall go to the forest to know the lives in the trees and learn the forest from a slightly different perspective.
The tree is a home of many insects, fungi, moss and other living organisms. This time we'll explore more invertebrates in trees, more specifically insects.
The start of the journey and the assembly of the participants at Luban's wetlands at the centre of the information centre. 11.00.
We're on the Lock of Aiviekstes! Address: “Aiviekstes hydronode”, Ošupes civil parish, Madona municipality, LV-4833, GPS: 56.8164, 26.9065
After gathering, we'll all go together with cars at the start of the hiking. The hiking will be approximately 3 hours long and approximately 5 km long. Walking will be less, the purpose of the journey is the stopping of trees and the observation of species.
We are going to explore the diversity of biological species in the forests of the “Luban wetlands”. We have selected older forests that are rich with criticism. Keep in mind that it will be a little harder to move than a new pine forest.
If you're very curious and you have a desire to get closer to the lives of living beings, you can take the magnifying devices with you.
The hiking is free and no age limit, thus also friendly for families with children. That is why every lead is invited to the hike!
It is recommended that the participants take appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for hiking through the forest. A lunch pause is planned during the trip, so we take the sandwiches and tea.
We still have enough species in Latvia, which are unfortunately lost in most European countries. Let's explore, realize and protect them together!
