Learning to learn a theatre game as a method of integrating different ethnic groups
Two days - 23 and 24 February 2019 in the small hall of the municipality of Rezekne (Rezekne, Liberation Alliance 95A), representatives of state and local government, cultural and educational institutions, representatives of associations and foundations, as well as all stakeholders whose daily work is associated with people of different nationalities, invited to participate in free training “theatre game as a method of integration of various ethnic groups and the recognition of national traditions”. The training will take place at 11.00 to 17.00
In the course of the curricula, participants will learn the elements of the theatre game in different national and Community cultural traditions, rituals, learn different actors of actor mastery to create collaborative skills with audiences. They will also find out what is a theatrical transformation of objects, an object and a doll theatre. Much attention will be paid to the possibilities of using natural materials, tools and traditional applied art objects in theatrical behaviours linked to the traditional anniversaries of various ethnic groups.
Lectures will be managed by Latvian cultural ambassador, theatre pedagogy, IX, X, XI Latvian school youth song and dance festival and other events director Inga Krišāne.
“Training will be carried out in the form of practical workshops through cooperation and joint knowledge. However, we have planned developments so that everyone has the opportunity to build their own personal experience to be able to experience the effects of the theatre method and the process of preparing the game. Theatre is an art of action. And only in action can it be learned,“ notes the cultural ambassador, Inga Krišāne.
The training will be conducted within the framework of the “Academy of Culture of Latvia” project, which is implemented by the association “Co-operation Platform” in cooperation with the representation of British Council in Latvia.
The training work requires the taking of various materials and objects of nature - jagged up to 1.50 m, Lin twine, scissors, yarn, wooden spoons of different sizes, one mug, handkerchiefs, 2 knitted socks and one pair of gloves, as well as light clothing and swap shoes for movement.
The training is free of charge. The number of places is limited!
The “theatre game as a method of integration of different ethnic groups and the recognition of national traditions” in lectures is invited by any interested party who wants to improve his or her personal and professional experience, improve the communication skills and knowledge of cooperation with the communities of Latvia and the people of the social groups.
