Education

In May, when the end of the school is approaching, it is time to go to an educational training event. For the year 2018/19, “best class of the year” - Class 7a on 23 May, class 7a went to the earned exit. In order to be more fun and a shorter time, a class 5a was driving. The class teacher Evita Cairiah and Aija Gribuste had planned an exhaustive programme.
As the first stop point was the Legacy Garden, whose extensive survey of the students knew not only the architectural objects, but also studied with interest the descriptions of objects, the ideas of creation, the ruling of Latvians, the centenary events of Latvia, and the opportunity to leave for years a long memorial of themselves in the Law Garden and perhaps somewhere else in Latvia. It was followed by a trip around Koknese Castle ruins. In Saulkrasti, they all had a strong walk on the hot sand of the white dune. The Museum of Saulkrasti bicycles, the place where the only collection of ancient bicycles in Latvia was located. The last stop was the Latvian Etnographic Museum. Many students first met this museum and its exhibition. Students studied with interest historic rural buildings, household objects, room fittings, compared to what had already been seen or found in the surrounding area. Learned about the work tools and lifestyles of farmers, fishermen, craftsmen. Compared the difference between the different and shared cultural history of Latvia.
Thanks to the “Latvian School Finish” programme, this trip gave students the opportunity to educate, understand and explore Latvian values, cultural space and development dynamics.
