Projects

Two years ago, in autumn 2016 Lucia Ranāne McKashan's post-school teacher Edgars Yukna came with an exciting idea to build in McKashans InLine the hockey area. The project seemed to be a dreamless dream at first, but the construction of the area was soon established in a joint creative and targeted collaboration.
And so, in the sunny afternoon of 24 August, the pupils, the parents, the residents of Rezekne, and the guests from all over Latvia, to celebrate and attempt at Latgale region at present the only object of this type of public sports infrastructure - InLine the hockey area.
In Latvia InLine the hockey areas with special coverage of this sport are located in Olaine, Yelgava, Riga and Jurmala, in Latgale this is the first. Usually hockey areas are active one, maximum, two months per year, while InLine the area will be active for at least six months per year.
The area is 40 x 20 m large, with a special plastic cover, on-board, gates and a protective net. The school also has equipment — roller skates, clubs, protective clothes.
On this area cover (Stymat Outdoor InLine) may be engaged in any sport: handball, Florbola, but primary cover is intended for roller skating; and InLine for hockey: in winter conditions it is used as a standard hockey area where players move with skates, but if there is no ice cover, skating skates. The area is available for sports activities in wheelchair. InLine the hockey can be played by both children and adults, including people with hereditary or acquired disabilities. It is more humane than the usual ice hockey, because there is less use of power techniques here, and in terms of cost it is much cheaper than ice hockey because there is no need for ice maintenance and freezing, so much more accessible to all.
It is planned that the area will be used not only by the secondary school pupils of Lucia Rananes McKashans, but also by the people of Valmiera parish, the school pupils of Rezekne, for the diversification of sports hours, also the residents of other local governments. The school has developed close cooperation with InLine the Hockey Federation in Olaine, whose team was playing with the hostess in the detection of the best matches. It is intended to organize a variety of overhead events, even the hockeepers from Vilnius, who do not have such an area!
At a given time InLine the area will be able to be used in families with children, etc., both to play InLine hockey and other activities such as roller skating or skating training.
The realization of the project allows for expanding the range of sports activities both for schools and for every citizen, contributes to the involvement of the population in physical activity, health promotion activities, useful time spending for children and young people.
We can probably say that the result has exceeded expectations. A new life starts in the magazines every evening - the parking areas are filled by cars with large and small players, audible shouts of the wheel and inspiring supporters' cries.
The area's idea was implemented thanks to a state grant of EUR 20000, the association “Rēzekne District Communities Partnership”, which gave the opportunity to receive the European Union Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) for the 2014-2020 financing of the rural development programme of Latvia – 25152.52, as well as the municipality of Valmiera parish (co-financing 2794.73).
InLine the hockey ground works were performed BY SIA “Lielvarde melioration”, the plastic cover was supplied and installed BY SIA “arena sports”, the onboard was produced and installed EVERY “Latgale carpenter”, the inventory was delivered BY Sportluss.
