For young people

At the end of August, Maltas children and youth centre (BJC) organised a cycle of informal learning cycles for young people in environmental education “green wall”, in order to encourage environmentally friendly action, while sailing Latgale's natural resources and the environment. It was an adventure, emotions, and an informative wealthy week. The training included Maltas and Silmalas parish young people, as well as one young man from Riga, and 16 active young people participated.
On the first day, events related to the familiarisation of members of the group, the creative activities of the group, the awareness of young people about their role in shaping the environment.
On the second day, young people went to the Nature Park “Dviete Paliene”, which received information on the natural and cultural heritage of the Dviete, on the management of the natural park. The guiding guides surveyed the pens with wild horses and Highlander cattle. In the information centre, young people were active in “environmental class” where they learned a lot of interesting about bebra life. The afternoon was dedicated to the work and activities of the group.
The theme of the third day of training was “thinking green, living green”. On the side of the morning, educational information on environmental problems took place. SIA “ALAAS” spokesman Editte Chepule told him about the sorting of the garbage and was playing an explosive erudition game. In the second half of the day, young people went to see Krome's mountain and learn much more about its history. The closing activities of the day took PLACE IN Pušā at the painting lake, a nice place in the “Ponivilla”. The team's costing tasks and many other creative activities continued. Young people formed video, theatrical behavior, and rainbow ritual dances.
The morning of the fourth day started IN Mākoņkalna parish in Lipuškos. In the Nature Education Centre “Razna”, young people took part in the activities of natural sciences on specially protected areas of nature, the bass-feet of the “sensation trail”, which was created near the centre of the centre, and then went to the “hive” of the Modern Mountains and the new leisure centre. Thank the head of the centre Santa for the hospitality and the fun time spent. In the cool waters of Razna, the road led to a workshop of electric guitars. While visiting Jānis Kuzminska Kaunatas parish in Dubuules, the unusual path of guitars and the sound of “live” self-made guitars attracted and enriched everyone – both young and adult. There was no time here. The final activities of the day with the assessment of sensations and the resulting progress at the foot of the large flame mountain.
The fifth, final day of training was a challenge and an adventure. Young people went into the streets of Jçkabpils City to overcome their challenges. During the hour they had to perform a variety of group tasks on the environmental and self-awareness of Jçkabpils City. With challenges, the training participants were great at the time. After the follow-up, the young people went to the tourist service centre “Latvia shine”, located next to the bakery “Liepkalni” and survived each of their first trips along the Daugava with a powerful, verbal and hero-stories “Lāčplēsis”. The trip led along the Ollinghill, the Palace castle, and through the many bays of the Daugava. At the time of the trip, young people learned not only about the history of the vicinity of the Viking boat, but also other viewing sites in the Park of Peadows, such as what the Daugava looked like before the Peadow HES was built.
At the end of the training, the young people unanimously agreed that the training was useful and interesting, that every day was rich with various activities and emotions, which gave the young people pleasure, new knowledge and discoveries, surprises, interest, excitement, dability, self-awareness, and other familiarisation.
Thank you for your work in organising and managing training for Imanta Tučam and Vitalijs Rimšam, as well as for all supporters: the municipality of Rezekne and THE municipality of Maltas parish.
