At the meeting of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Sport of 22 October, the issue of the appointment of Georg Ignatjeva as Director of the Special Inboarding School OF Maltas was discussed. Two applicants, one of whom had not submitted all the necessary documents, had been invited to tender for the vacant director's position, so that only MR Ignatyev, who was convinced by the Commission, was invited to carry out a work interview with the Commission, which convinced the Commission that it was appropriate to further manage THE Maltas Special School. It should be noted that the competition was announced as the long-standing school director Ivan Bebrich decided to leave.

For 16 years, Georg Ignatyev Maltas is working as an informatics teacher at the special boarding school, including the last two years as Deputy Director for Information Technology. MR Ignatiev also designed and directed working groups for the execution of various school projects, as well as, where necessary, replaced the school director.

Georg Ignatiev was born and spent years in Vidzeme. When asked about his association with Latgale, Georg replies that two people closest to him – the daughters Beatrice and Henrietta – are Latgalians. The new director has obtained a Bachelor degree from the University of Rezekne as a primary school teacher and a teacher, then received the qualification of a special education teacher. He also has an accountant – an economist education obtained by Jçkabpils Agricultural Technical School.

Georg Ignatyev Maltas is seen as a modern, development-oriented educational institution in the future, where people who are socially responsible and up-to-date with competencies provide education, education and disturbance adjustment for children's health and mental development.

As the first work to be performed, the new director mentions the supplementation of the school's law, the review of the school development plan for 2012-2018, the renewal and updating of the school Council and the ethics Commission, the involvement of the school in the electronic procurement system, the participation in the national health-enhancing school network and the socialisation programme APU (support for positive behaviour), as well as the establishment of pupils' training companies. “The initiation and management of these works must be undertaken by the director of the school, in addition to the course of this school year,” is convinced BY Mr Ignatyev.

The Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Sport decided to direct Georg Ignatjeva's candidature for approval at the meeting of the Director of the Rēzekne District Council on 5 November.
