Meteņi Kaunatā removed

On Tuesday, 13 February, Kaunatā was celebrated by Meteņi, one of the Latvian festivals. The Meters are a notional mid-point between Christmas and Easter, or winter and spring sunshine, which marks the end of winter and spring approaching, so that the Meters can also be called spring-waiting festivals.
In these meters we ate delicious biscuits, drank hot tea, swung and rolled down from the hill, made and burned the straw dolls, so that the winter would go away, the horse sledged, pleased and loud.
The smallest parish people were best liked to build and burn the enormous straw doll, as well as the horn of the horse.
Ancient Latvian beliefs say “what time is in girls, that will be in Easter” and “if the girls and roofs have snow, then it will be in Easter.” Just wait for Easter to confirm the accuracy of the belief.
Thank you for all THE people and employees of Kaunatas parish who engaged in organizational work! A particular thank you for Divanovsk for the spiritual pancakes!
