The Meters are midpoint between winter and spring. Still, the people call this day Vatlavi, Aizgaret, Masļeņicu. The girl cuts the fur to the other side and drives the winter away. With the various events of Methendah, the fountain also drove the winter.
In the afternoon of 25 February, small and large people of Shergana gathered in the square at the school sports hall to celebrate the Shadow, who, after the Catholic calendar, starts seven weeks before Easter (April 12 th). At first he was asked about the smallest thing that was Methday. The answers were correct and precise, as this topic was discussed at the pre-school institution and school hours. The participants of the event took an active part in a number of toys, minded the dough, dressed in masks, as it was known that the Meters were the last day before the big hill when they could go.
There was a team competition when they had to play both “hockey” and “pancakes” to a friend. The greatest excitement, especially the smallest, was caused by the “shopping” of Metheneesh with hiccups and swaying blankets. Then we burned the straw doll in a friendly fashion, and finally we met with very delicious Aizgavēņa pancakes, which had been cooked not only by the school cook, but also by the members of the Senior club who had also taken the blackouts of the blackberries and plums.
The winter is gone, but we have to get to spring feelings, good ideas and work that will bring pleasure to ourselves and the people.
