Culture

In Latgale, it is not just a ball, an order, a dance evening, or another event related to dancing. In the middle of the last century in Latgale, the vecherinka is a natural, unexploited part of the intangible cultural heritage associated with Latgale traditions, singing, musical instrument game, new and less young people's life and relationships in Latgale villages. The wečerinkas traditions ON the Nautrēnu side are now collected BY Nautrēnu high school young people, members of the Latgalian language and cultural history. Thanks TO THE project “Rogovkīši” created BY THE parish association “Rogovkīši”, the collection of “Latgale voludys tradiceju” is now collected in a small brochure “Večerinka Nautranieu”. The project was financially supported by the association “LR”.
The brochure presentation was held on 30 March, Nautrēnu in the small hall of high school, where Iveta Magica was playing the garmock, her new day vescherinks' memories were told by Antoņina Ludborja, a member of the ethnographic ensemble Rogovka, whose life had already fallen into the ninth decade, but the memories were as bright and young as the sunlight. On the other hand, the small listeners, the teacher and the members of the association's board of directors, Marie Smith, raised their hands briskly to answer questions, how they could rest and enjoy their grandmother and grandmother. One of the members of the Latgalian crowd, Christer Ulebicane, hearing the memory of his grandfather, admitted that the thought of that time had been different than today, but he seems to have been simpler at that time. Maybe even then, maybe the people could be happy about simple things, a little bit of money that had been given in the harsh post-war years, about white-scrubbed tennis chiefs, wooden crackers, and a musical musician who could play all night without consideration.
“Rogovkins” exists for only three years, but the fourth project has been implemented in the meantime. “Three years, five comrades and four projects,” says Maria Mazure. In January 2015, in the Rēzekne District Communities Partnership, the “diversification of rural economy and the promotion of quality of life in the area of implementation of local development strategies” was supported by the association project “are active in fresh air”. As part of this, four open-air trainers were installed in the centre of the village. In the same year, in collaboration with the Music Society of the People's Musicums and the Rēzekne City Theatre, the “Joriks” project was created by the “cultural roots” project, supported by the association “Southern Latgale NGO Support Centre” within the framework of the Latgale NGO project programme for intercultural dialogue/minority initiatives within the framework of the sub-programme. Various nationalities, representatives of different cultures met at the end of the project, the traditional People's Musicist festival “O, bomb!” which will be held for the sixth year. The author of the festival was the poet Anton Kokoy, whose daughter, Teresa, was an active member of Rogovkins, now taking over her father's initiative. This year, the Musicans of People's Musicans and dancing evening in Rogovka “Večerinka O, bobka!” will be held on May 20 with the support of the National Cultural Capital Fund. With the funding of this fund, the active rogovans implement another interesting activity – in the evening of the 20 th century the authentic večerinks dance of the beginning of the 20 th century has been studying, and the event has caused so much interest.
