The Rēzekne municipality's Nautrēnu secondary school student Laura Melne with research “maps – the reflectors of the agrarian reform in Green Manor (1784-2011)” won the first place in the competition for international pupils creative and research work “history around us”. In this school year, the competition took place 10 times and its theme was “picture story …”. Laura, as an image, chose a map of the Parish of Green Manor, a map of 1784, as well as the 1927, 1935, 1953, 1967 and 1989 maps. He was a teacher Valentine Turlaya. She tells him that cards can also be a very valuable form of history, because they are based on their first masters and are able to visualize information.

The maps available to the driver on the village of Green Manor are very well reflected in several of the processes of Latvia and Latgale – the history of the mud, the exportation of the skins to the homes, the agrarian reform, the formation of the first colhoes, the development of local farms and the formation of farm farms today. Counselling for cartographic material was provided by the Senior expert of the Latvian Geospatial Information Agency on the development of geoinformation services in Andra Zubko – Melne.
