For young people

The pupils' autumn holidays Dricānu for young people took place in a creative and technical atmosphere, implementing the informal training of young people “inspired to stay in Latgale”. The training took place between 22 October and 25 October and was organised within the framework of the youth camps and informal training project “Inspiration to stay in Latgale”.
The aim of the project is to organise non-formal training for young people in the multimedia sphere, contributing to the development of local affiliation and local patriotism. The current information and technology stream gives young people an idea of the real situation. It seems that all opportunities are abroad or Riga because the Internet is crowded with false information and makes it difficult to see where the truth is, where lies.
Young people met with the youth case specialists of Karsava's municipality, the dance teacher of the School of Music and Art, Solvu Dzierkali, the leader of the Salnava youth dance collective, young people from Rezekne, who participated in volunteering in Kamchatka, Janis Poikāns, the official of the Special Operations Service of the Aviation Administration “Sigma” and, of course, local people who have acquired different skills abroad, but returned to commence their business in Rezekne District. All the invited guests have chosen to stay and live in Latgale, so that young people had the opportunity to listen to the various stories of life and the reasons why their choice was just Latgale.
One of the most inspiring and focused guests was Janis Poikāns, who had gone to volunteering for Camchatka, not by chance, but by personally writing the European Voluntary Work Project for the company in Kamchatka and living far from metropolitan and developed infrastructure for a year. As John himself acknowledges, “by writing this project i was more worried and working as a diplomat.”
On the other hand, the official of the Special Operations Service of the Aviation Administration “Sigma” provided the young people with not only versatile information on the service at the national border guard, but also demonstrated the equipment that young people had the opportunity to accommodate.
The event used a video inventory of the project “Creating the video room IN Dricānu parish” (No 17-01-AL15-a019 .2202-000033). Upon completion of the project, a video material on the progress of the event will be created and published.
Non-formal training was organised with the funding of the Rēzekne municipality's educational administration.
