Cleared “Dricānu Cup” florball winners
On 17 and 18 January, athletes from 12 teams gathered IN THE Dricānu high school sports hall to identify the “Dricānu Cup” in the florball. Given the large number of teams, the first day of competition took place in several sub-groups. The best of the pre-races on 18 January went on to play “Dricānu Cup”, while the rest of the teams struggled for the “small Dricānu bucket” or “hope bucket”.
In addition to several parishes of Rezekne Municipality, Rēzekne and Viļāniem had come to the florball competition. In the overall assessment, THE “small Dricānu Cup” was won BY a Viļānu team, 2 nd – Ilzeskalna team, while the 3 rd place ranked IN Dricānu I team. Meanwhile, in the big “Dricānu Cup” match, the 3 rd place won the team “Rezekne”, 2 nd place for the team “chebureki”, while the 1 st place was won by the team “LGF”, which played the florbolists from Carsava, Rezekne and Nautrēnu parish (team composition: Raivis huaks, Martin Bertins, Janis paja, Edgars potash, Kristaps Ivons, Janis Lubka, Janis Bondars, Sandris Turlajs, Andris Nakonečnijs, Guntis, and Armands Ivolans). The organisers of the best players acknowledged Jānis Bondars from the “LGF”.
According to Rēzekne municipality sports specialist Igor Derjagin, florball is currently one of the most popular sports in Rezekne municipality. “In order to be able to play a higher rank in higher ranks, it is planned that this autumn Rēzekne county team would be able to depart in the 2 nd League matches organised by the Latvian Flemish Union. The team's home games would be held in Dricans and also the basic composition players would be the dricānieši, but the chance to play in the team would also be given to other parish florbolists,” said Igor Derjagin.
The next meeting of local florball enthusiasts on the game area is scheduled for the end of the year, when the Rēzekne District Championship in florball will take place. Meanwhile, the calendar of sports life has also been filled with other sporting activities, for example, the open championship of Rēzekne in a table tennis, on 7 February in the skiing of competitions, and a championship in volleyball will be held in mid-February.
