Closed youth initiative project competition

14.12.2018

For young people

From 26 September to 25 October 2018, the municipality of Rēzekne invited youth organisations, associations or foundations to submit proposals for youth initiatives for the open project competition “Involvement OF early school leaving (PMP) risk youth in youth initiative projects”.
Project target group – students with a risk of not completing school, increasing their training motivation and promoting active participation in day-to-day life.
The project competition took place in the framework of the European Social Fund project “Support for the reduction of early school 8.3.4.0/16/I/001” within the framework of the “budpurs”. Within the framework of the competition, the associations will each win eur 4600 for the implementation of their project.
Objectives of the competition:

  • Increase the motivation of early school leaving risk group students to continue their education and promote their active participation in day-to-day life.
  • Involve early school leaving risk groups in youth activities and youth initiative projects outside formal education, ensuring the availability of activities as close as possible to the lives and training of children and young people.

In assessing and clarifying the two project applications submitted, the realization of both ideas was confirmed:
• Dricānu parish association “LOBS” project “organisation of technical video creative activities IN Dricānu secondary schools and Nautrēnu secondary SCHOOL PMP risk group students” with the aim of organising Dricānu secondary schools and Nautrēnu secondary school classes 5-12 FOR PMP educated video technical innovation activities, increasing the motivation of young people to continue training and actively contributing to day-to-day life in both the educational institution and youth centres.
“EDEDE” project “development of personality through activity blocks” with the aim of presenting educators, so called PMP's risk group young people, with different professions and motivating them to continue their education, link their future with one of the professions.
The next open project call for “involvement of young people at risk of early school leaving in youth initiatives” will take place in spring 2019, when youth associations, organisations and foundations will again be able to take up participation in the project competition to implement ideas on how to motivate young people to work and not to leave training.
