Global School

From 24 to 27 October, practical activities in the field of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) were organised in the municipality of Rezekne and primary school teachers. This was a continuation of the 48-hour global education professional development programme launched on 18 August and 22 September, which was acquired by project participants. A 48-hour global education professional development programme was conducted by the lecturers of THE CENTRE for EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT AT the Rēzekne District and primary school teachers, while NGOs in the practical activities of Rezekne are led by pre-school and primary school teachers - the association “GREEN LIBERTY”.

As the lecturers acknowledged, this time, the teachers had not only listened with interest to the lecturers, but were already actively talking about experience and work in their educational institution. In impressions after Cycle II, Teacher Aija Ruhmane, a teacher of the Rēzekne pre-school education institution Vinnijs Pūks, was divided: “It is worth emphasising that each of the lessons led by knowledgeable and experience-rich lecturers gives teachers a lot of new ideas that can be introduced in their daily work. In order to better match the information obtained, teachers are given a unique opportunity to feel a lecture in the“ skin ”and read lectures to colleagues in their institution. Thus, the beneficiaries of these courses are not only teachers who participate in training but also teachers of institutions who receive a wide and useful range of information after each training. In my own name and on behalf of all the teachers participating in these training, we would once again like to thank you for the opportunity to improve your professional competences.

Rezekne takes the lessons of Tiskad High School's primary school teacher Yelena Bažanova after courses: “colleagues very much like the fact that i share them in all the knowledge i have learned in these courses.” When i invited them for the first time on the subject of global education, they thought they would say something again, but when we tried to do it in practice, they said how interesting!, we did not even think it could be and do it with children.

Dricānu High-school primary school teacher Inguna Butkānes's thoughts on courses: “the whole world starts with ourselves – how we live, it will live the whole world. Everyone must think about themselves, their behaviour, their habits, their attitudes, and all the rest. '

It is true that teachers appreciate very much the opportunities that this project gives them. We think that the topics learned, and also the methods recommended for use with children, will be introduced in practice in the near future and will result in positive results.
