On 6 November, the Latvian Red Cross (LSK) in the Rēzekne Committee gathered the 12 families involved in the “work therapy” project from Rezekne Municipality, Mākoņkalna, Kaunatas, Dricānu and Bērzgales parish. This was a final measure for the project, which started in March of that year, thanks to the Oplannes provided by the Norwegian COUNCIL (Oppland).
“Both the participants of the project and the LSK Rezekne Committee, which was responsible for the use of the funds, and the parish social workers at the beginning of the project were slightly worried, as such a project was carried out for the first time in Rezekne municipality. The responsibility was to be borne by everyone and the result was achieved. It was also positively assessed by Oplannes of the Committee of the Regions who had visited the autumn project family, said Gunta Krukovska, Executive Director of THE LSK Rēzekne Committee.
As a result of successful participation in the project, each family received a celebration article, and the children who participated in the work were also planted, produced and harvested. For children, gifts had been Oplannnes by the cooperation partners. The fun was provided by Bērzgales parish folklore members who were involved with different educational plays in the family's active division.
The event took part in the parish social workers, the parish leaders and the head of the Rēzekne District Council, Silvija Strankale, who also welcomed the project, thankfully thanked families for their susceptibility, and encouraged them not to be afraid to participate in other projects as well.
