Closed 46. Latvian Arts of the International Children's Art Competition “Lidice 2018”

UNESCO has declared the year 2018-2028 as the international decade for “sustainable water development”, therefore 46. The theme of the international children's art exhibition “Lidice 2018” is “water” this year.
In the Latvian round of the competition, the work was evaluated by a jury created by the State Education Content Centre and the Riga Interest Education Methodological Centre: the artist of the Commission of the jury - the artist of the Latvian National Museum of Art - Kath of Latvia; members of the panel of the jury: the visually plastic art method of the Riga Interest Education Centre Dagnija Ramane and the visual art metodier Viva dzene, the head of the Riga Children's and Youth Centre “Daugava” studio “mosaic”, member of the international children's art competition “Lidice” in the Czech Republic, Ilze Rimicāne.
1256 works from 54 Latvian municipalities and cities were sent to the competition. 178 works were put forward for the exhibition of Latvian laureates.
Among these laureates was the children of Rezekne municipality – League Sondore (Nautrēnu secondary school, see May Gailums), Maria Bebrisha (Maltas secondary school, see Vita Kapostina – Tuče), Diana Igolniece (Maltas BJC, see Vita Kapostina – Tuče, see Vita Kapostina – Tuče). This time, the Commission focused more on graphic and ceramic art, because of the 178 works that could be seen at the 5-floor exhibition of Riga City Council, paintings were in minority. The event was thoughtful and interesting in Riga. The winners of the competition were expected by the leaders of the event, who had chosen a task for each of them. The Latgale municipality had to call the new artists all lakes. As a result, songs and VEF cultural castles showed their dancing skills. The Atractive Managers of the event showed a variety of tricks and a lot of joke. The winners of the competition received beautiful diplomas and souvenirs that were useful to artists. At the end of the event, all were invited to take photos together with the organisers of the competition. These children's works went to the Czech Republic, and in the autumn we will be waiting for the next prizes from the Lidice.
