Ozolaines parish: two youth projects – “Olympic Water Games” and Inventory Purchase Project

29.09.2017

For young people

Due to the youth initiative and inventory projects launched by the municipality of Rezekne, two projects totalled 970 EURO were implemented in THE parish OF Ozolaines.
In the summer of the summer, a slightly different Olympic Games were offered to young people in the Rēzekne municipality as in previous years. This time, 18 Rēzekne Municipalities took a boat trip along Tartaka River, Jaunaglona - Cirisha HES, crossing the Zelvos and Ciris lakes, as well as playing various sports games, actively spending time in nature. The natural trail of the beautiful Upursala and the Latvian Forests of Latvia was also considered. The young people were preparing themselves for lunch, a soup on the fire, as well as a sip of firewood in the woods.
The weather surrounded us with generous sunshines and + 21 oC, so some managed to give up a little more last summer. The scenes of nature, both on the river and on the lakes and in Upursala, were impressive! The big floods in Latgale ensured that the boating was quite calm, but there was a place where they had to go to get past fallen trees.
Although the experience of the rowing and boating of young people was very different (many of these were the first time boating with peaks), they had to sit in the boats for two, which means that they had to work together, but all young people were able to deal with this challenge, as well as working as a team, while waiting for those who were behind! After the trip, all the participants received medals for daylight and participation. There was an idea that such a boat trip should be repeated and extended for 2 days with accommodation at the river bank.
On the other hand, the Xbox game console, Kinect motion sensor, the other player console, and various video games, as well as 5 cyclists and 2 inflatable costumes, were purchased as part of the youth inventory project, totalling 680 EURO.
The XBox game console combined with Kinect sensor allows a virtual play of different sports games, dancing, driving by car, all with body movements. Such games allow young people to develop their physical skills as well as to encourage young people to spend their free time in a multi-generational society by developing communication and communication skills. Today, popular inflatable costumes will be useful for youth and children's events, while the cyclists will serve as a security garage during cycling, as young people arrive without helmets on these journeys.
