In Riga, ON 29 November OF THE VEF Cultural Palace, the “Award participants – var!” event of the Latvian national centenary of the national education content centre, organised by the State Education Content Centre, was held. As part of this, 103 young people from 22 different Latvian Award units received an international award from the Duke of Edinburgh.
Young people from Auces, Carnikava and Lojasciema were pleased with their performances. Annie Brahmane, the silver-level member of the Award High School, played the piano, and tāla Schulgin, who played the cella, went on stage for the rest of the day to show the results of the field of skills achieved under the individual programme Award. Both young people decided to acquire the music instruments in question directly thanks to the Award programme. Rudolf Login - a member of the “Award” unit of the Carnikava elementary school, was decorated by a poem in Japanese. The acquisition of this language was his personal challenge, with which he chose to link one of his bronze-level goals in February 2019. The event participants and guests listened to the songs “honey pods”, “Riptide” and “everything may change” in the performance of the vocal instrument group from Lejasciema “Deep Silence”.
In order to receive an international award from the Duke of Edinburgh of Edinburgh of Edinburgh, each member of the “Award”, subject to international requirements, had reached four, one of the goals set, one in each of the areas of the Award programme – volunteering, physical preparedness, skills and adventure travel. For the purpose of obtaining a gold award, the objectives of the additional four main areas had to be involved in the implementation of a project. The photo exhibition “Award participants' story snippets”, accompanied by informal conversations, revealed what the winners of the awards have done in their own right and for Latvia.
This year, the international awards of 64 bronze, 33 silver and 6 gold-level Duke of Edinburgh were received by “Award” participants from the Award's Children's and Youth Centre, the Academy High School, the Auces Secondary School, the Carnikava primary school, the association “DUEsport”, the association “suiti cultural heritage”, the trousers elementary schools, the Dobele Youth and Health Initiative Centre, the Forest Basic Schools, the 11 th Basic School of Daugavpils, the Gulbenes District, the National School of Youth Initiatives, the Gulbenes District School, the Kandavas multifuncional Youth Initiative Centre, the Gulbenes primary school, the Kandawa School of Youth, the 5 th Secondary School of the Kandava Country, the Kandawa School of Youth, the Rēzekne 5 th Secondary School, the Primary School, the Riga Ostvald High School, the Riga Tourism and Creative Industries Technical School, the Riga State German Gymnasia, the Taurupes School of Tourism, the Ulbrokas High School, the Riga State School, the Taurupes School of Tourism, the Ulbrokas Secondary School, the Riga State School, the Taurriver School, the Ulbrokas Secondary School, and Valka District.
A thank-you article of the State Education Content Centre for the support to participants of “Award” who received awards that day, with invitations to the Latvian national theatre, Latvian national opera and ballet and Dailes theatre shows received all the leaders of the respective units “Award”. The leaders of the red Award leaders received those leaders from Balvi, Riga, Madlient, Dobeles and Priežedges, who, after successful completion of the 16-hour programme of “Award”, have started active progress this year. The green - “Award” adventure for travel supervisors and assessors was received by those who had practically helped young people prepare for an adventure travel, go into it and assess the experience gained.
A special thank-you mark “Award Latvia Five Year” “received five“ Award ”leaders who actively introduce“ Award ”to young people from 2014 and assist them in shaping and performing individual programmes: Inga Blumfelde (Lielvārde elementary school), Ilze Poriķe (association“ suiti cultural heritage ”), Evija Kiķene (the Centre for the Child and Youth), Laila Dambe (Dobeles High School 1 st High School and Annemieku elementary school), Daina Jakobsone (Riga Ostvald High School).

The international award of the Duke of Edinburgh was presented and congratulated by the Director of the Informal Education Department of the National Centre for Education, Award Latvia National Director, Agra Berzins and the Ambassador of Great Britain, Ruth Rajavejjabhisal. Aldis Kalnins was playing blue miracles on the stage, but the group “Trainsleiteris” was shaken by the musical surprise.

How you're lucky to achieve your goals is also best known for your managers, teachers and consultants who helped you find, set up your goals and help, showing the way to do it, and certainly you firmly, strongly encouragement. Your achievement is one step in your next step, your way of work, your life, and certainly these steps won't be forgotten.
The festival is also for us – the centre of national education content - that we can be proud of you all and your performance in Latvia. We can proud and show the large and international “Award” family that the “Award” movement in Latvia is working and very many young people have a great will to achieve their goals. ”
Iveta Gaile, head of the “Award” unit of the Primary School of Verthema, said that the bronze-level awards were also received by three Class 9 pupils of the Primary School – Editte Glenarvan, Dairis Mivreniks and Vadim Jtumems. “Every student in the autumn of last year raised the topical objectives of the area. The objectives of the area were very different. In the new skills, young people have set themselves both the acquisition of the programming language, the acquisition of both the skills of the kindergarten and the creation of their own computer. In the physical field, targets have been set for learning skills and various challenges to improve physical strength. In the three-month period, young people also performed volunteering - the Facebook website of the Primary School of Verems, a multi-apartment house courtyard was regularly cleaned, providing help in horse care. Finally, in the summer, young people made a planned two-day expedition around Lake Luban. Thank parents and the field coach for support! Thank the municipality of Rēzekne for the financial support provided. '

“The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Latvia” is implemented by youth centres, associations and educational institutions licensed by the National Centre for Education. Every young man (aged 14-24) who wants to obtain the “the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award” (Edinburgh Duke International Award), with the support of Award, must create an individual growth agenda consisting of four areas: volunteering, physical preparedness, skills and adventure travel, but at the gold level, in addition to four basic areas, a project should be developed and implemented. The international award of the bronze, silver or gold Edinburgh Duke is received by those young people, “Award”, who have achieved all the objectives they have set in accordance with international requirements.
