The municipality thanked the rescuers

For a third year, a fire and rescue day is celebrated in Latvia for a third year. In honour of these festivals, the municipality of Rezekne thanked those people who are always awake for our security. This time, the vice-president of the council, Elhusband Pizane Rēzekne District, gave the letter of gratitude to the commander of the National Fire-Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) Latgale Region Brigade Rēzekne Division Maltas, Ilmatir Vaichuļam.

This year, the early spring for firefighters was very strained, the winter winter and the first large drought contributed to both the dry grass and the number of forest and non-landed structures, however, as the firefighters themselves recognise, the most of the fault is the inresponsibility of the people themselves to hear the sirens of fire-fighting machines, and it must be remembered that even a second can be important to save some life.

On May 17, 1865, the Riga Voluntary Fire Fire team first organised a fire in Old Riga. Since then, this date is considered the anniversary of fire. At the end of 1864, the Voluntary Fire-Fire Society was started by a group of citizens under the direction of co-founder and public employee Ivana Himiler.
